Instead of walking in the dark, we should look to God’s Word. This means that we regularly commit to spending time with him. We learn what his Word says and keep it on the top of our minds. If we want to be able to say, “Your word is a lamp for my feet” then we actually have to look to the lamp.
2. Live According To God’s Word
Knowing God’s Word is a good start, but it’s not where we end. It’s not enough to know God’s Word; we have to actually apply it to our lives.
We see throughout Psalm 119 that the psalmist’s biggest desire is to live in accordance with God’s Word. This should be every Christian’s desire as well. We should take what we learn in the Bible and strive to live it out in our lives.
When we align our lives with God’s truth we will find a light for our path. What God asks of us might not always make sense, but he is trustworthy and can see what we cannot. So, rely on his Word, listen to the Bible’s wisdom, and allow it to direct your paths.
