What does it look like to follow Jesus? Living out our faith can be challenging, confusing, awkward, and sometimes difficult. Here you will find encouragement, challenges, and reminders about how to live your faith out.

We will look at faith and doubt, prayer, rest, evangelizing, wandering, and several personal stories of how I’ve struggled in my faith. I hope the articles in this section will help you grow your faith in practical ways.

Issues In The Church

People are messy. So it should come as no surprise that the church is messy. The articles in this section deal with just that, the church and the people inside. We will look at specific problems facing the church and how we can fix them. We will also look at what the purpose of the church is and what God originally intended His people to be about.

What Does the Bible Say About…

There are plenty of topics where people what to know where the Bible stands. From divorce and drinking to hell and swearing. The articles in this section deal with just those topics, and many more. Most of these passages are misunderstood and misread. But with a little work, we can understand what God wants us to know and how to apply it to our lives.

Some of the most controversial issues in our culture are clear in scripture. While other issues we think are so clear in scripture are just cultural differences. So let’s dive into these issues and see where the Bible lands and how it can change us.

Understanding Specific Bible Stories (Biblical Interpretation)

The Bible is full of fascinating stories. But sadly, due to a lack of Biblical interpretation, many just give a cursory reading of these passages. The fullness and richness have been lost and the Bible has become a book that just collects dust on our shelf.

These articles deal with interpreting specific Bible passages and uncovering the author’s intended meaning. The goal is not simply to increase knowledge. Rather these articles strive to show how exciting, provocative, and life-altering the Bible can be; when we let it.

With just a little work, we can uncover the depth and richness that God has for us in the pages of the Bible.

How To Read The Bible (hermeneutics)

The Bible is the most misunderstood and misused book of all time. Simply put, most people don’t know how to read it. These articles deal with how to read, study, and understand the Bible. Rather than dealing with specific passage’s these articles deal with the big picture of the Bible. They go over basic hermeneutics (fancy word for reading and applying scripture) so you can have a better understanding of the message of the Bible.

My hope is that by reading these articles you will come to a deeper understanding of the Bible and how it applies to you.
